JFX220-2515: large-format UV printing with simpler setup

A 4 x 8-foot-class flatbed with a 98.4 x 59.1-inch printable area

Bring rigid signage, retail displays and decorative panels into one direct-to-substrate workflow. The Mimaki JFX220-2515 combines a 2,500 x 1,500 mm printable area with four staggered printheads and resolution modes up to 1,200 dpi. Its ANCHOR vacuum table and automatic positioning pins simplify the preparation work between jobs.

Choose the configuration around your materials. Supported hard or flexible UV inks and optional fluorescent colors, white, clear and primer let you plan for the applications you actually produce. Ask GPI to evaluate your substrates and specify the installed ink set before ordering.

Published U.S. MSRP: $99,995. Request a complete equipment quote for availability, configuration, freight and services. This is not an installed-package total; example printed products are not included.

Download note: The original manufacturer specification sheet below is revision 09/15/26, not an operating manual. It contains inconsistent unit pairs for machine dimensions, weight and operating temperature. Confirm final installation data with GPI/Mimaki; see Details and Instructions for guidance.

Spend less time masking and positioning media

ANCHOR vacuum technology and automatic registration pins

ANCHOR TECHNOLOGY concentrates vacuum beneath the substrate instead of allowing uncovered areas to draw air. This reduces masking and preparation when loading different media sizes, helping operators transition between jobs with fewer manual setup steps.

Touchscreen-controlled pop-up pins help locate sheets consistently. They rise for loading and retract before printing, supporting repeatable registration without leaving pins in the print path.

Test difficult media first. Extreme warping or lifting can prevent secure hold-down. Confirm flatness, holding and printhead clearance on the actual substrate rather than assuming every warped or irregular sheet will print successfully.

Spend less time masking and positioning media

Make room for thicker panels and finished products

Suitable media up to 4 inches thick

The 98.4 x 59.1-inch printable area accommodates standard 4 x 8-foot sheets, with extra depth for layout flexibility. Up to 4 inches of media thickness expands the range of suitable boards, interior materials and finished pieces that can be considered for direct decoration.

Printable area and hold-down area are different. The published 98.4 x 76-inch media area provides space for positioning and holding; it does not extend the artwork beyond the 98.4 x 59.1-inch print limit.

Plan the load, not just the size. Mimaki lists 50 kg per square meter or less, approximately 10.2 lb per square foot, distributed evenly. Consider fixtures, surface geometry and loading access, and test adhesion and end-use durability. Fitting below the height limit alone does not make an object printable.

Balance production speed with the finish your job needs

Four printheads, color touchscreen and defined four-color print modes

For four-color printing, Mimaki publishes 452 sq. ft./hr (42 m²/hr) in production mode at 600 x 600 dpi, or 226 sq. ft./hr (21 m²/hr) in high-quality mode at 1,200 x 1,200 dpi. Select the mode around viewing distance, detail and the finished application.

Compare like-for-like output. These are manufacturer test figures for the specified four-color modes, not guaranteed throughput for white, clear, fluorescent or multilayer work. Coverage, print quality, ink configuration and material handling all affect your daily production.

An icon-based color touchscreen brings media setup and printer controls to the machine. RasterLink8 supports job preparation and specialty-print workflows; confirm the supplied software license, workstation and training scope in your equipment quote.

Balance production speed with the finish your job needs

Expand your palette with fluorescent pink and yellow

Specialty color for displays, promotional graphics and accent designs

Available EFS-150 fluorescent pink and yellow add vivid accent colors to retail displays, event graphics and decorative work. Use them selectively where the color treatment is an important part of the design.

Specify the channels before purchase. Fluorescent inks are used in supported combinations with ELH-100 hard UV or ELS-120 flexible UV. Availability of white, clear, light colors and primer also depends on the installed setup; the full list of supported inks does not mean every color is installed together.

Approve a physical sample on your own substrate under the intended lighting. Screen previews cannot fully represent fluorescent appearance or confirm application-specific durability.

Expand your palette with fluorescent pink and yellow

Add texture, clear finishes and dimensional detail

Specialty effects through supported layered-print workflows

Layered UV printing can give a flat graphic a tactile surface. Supported 2.5D Texture Maker and emboss workflows provide options for decorative panels, raised graphic details and clear-finish effects when the appropriate ink set is installed.

Design and production need to be considered together. The effect depends on artwork, ink configuration, substrate and print conditions. Additional layers change production time, so evaluate a representative job rather than applying standard four-color speed figures to dimensional work.

Mimaki also lists LD1-LD4 modes for uneven-surface applications, with up to 20 mm height variation in supported conditions. This mode-dependent capability does not increase the 4-inch media-thickness limit. Request sample evaluation before committing to recessed or uneven surfaces, and validate applicable requirements separately for regulated signage.

Match the ink configuration to your applications

Select the ink family and channel arrangement before ordering

Start with the materials, finish and end use. These are supported ink families, not a list of bottles included with every printer. Choose the setup with GPI and confirm the actual ink part numbers before ordering refills.

JFX220-2515 ink-selection guide
Ink familyApplication roleBefore ordering
ELH-100 hard UVHard-ink setup for suitable rigid applications.Test adhesion, surface preparation and the desired finish.
ELS-120 flexible UVFlexible-ink alternative where the job calls for flexibility.Test actual flexing and end-use requirements on the printed substrate.
EFS-150 fluorescentFluorescent pink and yellow in supported combinations.Confirm channels and color workflow; approve a physical sample.
PR-200 primerAdhesion support in an approved UV ink configuration.Confirm whether the material needs primer and the appropriate preparation process.

CMYK-only and specialty-channel arrangements serve different jobs. White, clear, primer and fluorescent options are configuration-dependent. Do not assume inks or maintenance products for an older JFX200 are compatible with the JFX220.

JFX220-2515 questions before you buy

Application fit, delivery planning and what the equipment quote covers

Can it print a standard 4 x 8-foot sheet? Yes. A 96 x 48-inch sheet fits within the 98.4 x 59.1-inch printable area. Confirm artwork margins, registration and any fixture requirements for the job.

Will ANCHOR flatten every warped sheet? No. Extreme warping or lifting may prevent secure hold-down. Test challenging media and confirm head clearance before production.

Are all specialty inks included? No universal ink package is promised. Your quote must specify the ink family, installed channels, initial bottle quantities and supported workflow.

Does $99,995 include delivery and installation? It is the published U.S. manufacturer MSRP, not an installed-package total. Freight, unloading or rigging, installation, training, workstation and accessories must be expressly included in the written quote.

What do I need to confirm for installation? Ask GPI/Mimaki for final machine dimensions, floor loading, clearances, environmental limits, electrical service and ventilation requirements. The supplied September 15 sheet contains conflicting unit pairs for dimensions, weight and operating temperature, so those entries should not be used as final site-planning data.

Is a packaged shipping weight confirmed? Not yet. The freight quote must confirm crated weight, crate dimensions and unloading arrangements for the actual shipment. Machine net weight is not packaged shipping weight.

Is the download an operator manual? No. It is the manufacturer's specification sheet. Obtain the current JFX220-2515 operating, maintenance, installation and safety documents for the supplied machine before use.

Know before you buy

Confirm your applications. The printable area is 98.4 x 59.1 inches, with media thickness up to 4 inches. The larger 98.4 x 76-inch media/hold-down area is not additional printable space. Confirm flatness, fixtures, loading access and evenly distributed table load; test your actual substrates for adhesion and durability.

Choose the installed ink configuration. ELH-100 hard UV and ELS-120 flexible UV are separate setups. EFS-150 fluorescent pink/yellow and PR-200 primer require supported configurations. Not every advertised color or finish is available at the same time. Initial inks and bottle quantities must be itemized in your quote.

Complete a site survey before delivery. The September 15, 2026 manufacturer specification sheet contains inconsistent imperial/metric entries for machine dimensions, machine weight and operating temperature. Obtain confirmed installation dimensions, floor-loading data, environmental limits and service clearances from GPI/Mimaki before planning the site. Do not use the sheet's machine weight as a shipping weight.

Plan power and air handling. The printer specifications list two single-phase AC 200-240 V power inputs. Vacuum/blower equipment has its own electrical requirements, which vary by option. Have a qualified installer confirm the complete configuration, circuit requirements and ventilation before installation.

Review the complete written quote. The displayed $99,995 is Mimaki USA's published U.S. MSRP, not an installed-package price. Confirm the ordering SKU, availability, software license, workstation, ink package, vacuum equipment, accessories, freight, unloading/rigging, installation, training and warranty terms. Freight is quoted separately; crated dimensions and shipping weight remain to be confirmed.
