Medium Weight Cut Away Stabilizer

Cut away backing remains behind the embroidery design after trimming, helping the stitched area hold its shape through wear and washing. This makes it especially useful for knit and unstable fabrics where long-term design support is important. The black color is ideal for darker garments where white backing may be more visible.

How to Use

Use one pre-cut sheet or trim the stabilizer to fit your hoop size. Place the backing underneath the garment, hoop the fabric and stabilizer together, then embroider the design.

After embroidery, remove the item from the hoop and trim away excess backing with sharp scissors or shears, leaving approximately 1/4" around the outside of the design. Rounding the corners can help prevent curling after trimming.

Helpful Trimming Tip

To avoid nicking the fabric while trimming, hold the backing and allow the garment to drape. Position the item so you can clearly see both the design edge and the fabric for a cleaner, safer trim.
