Heavy Weight Cut Away Stabilizer for Production Embroidery

Cut away backing is recommended for unstable and knit fabrics because it remains behind the embroidery after trimming, helping the stitched design keep its shape through wear and repeated laundering. This 3.0 oz Super Hefty backing gives added structure for demanding designs while maintaining a soft feel on the garment.

How to Use

Cut a piece from the roll to fit your hoop size. Place the backing underneath the garment, hoop the fabric and backing together, then embroider the design.

After stitching, remove the garment from the hoop and trim away excess backing with sharp scissors or shears, leaving approximately 1/4" around the outside of the design. Rounding the corners instead of leaving them square or pointed can help avoid curling later.

Helpful Trimming Tip

To avoid nicking the fabric when trimming away the backing, hold the backing while letting the garment drape. Position the item so you can clearly see both the edge of the design and the fabric while trimming.
